In the news today - possible breakthrough using mega-doses of vitamin C to cure a seriously ill ICU patient of Covid 19.

Sepsis is a common cause of death for people gravely ill with COVID-19. Researchers at the Florey Institute [Melbourne Australia] used megadoses of vitamin C to treat sepsis in animals. Doctors at Austin Hospital [Melbourne] tried the technique on an unresponsive critically ill patient, who then made a "remarkable" recovery.
Readers of this forum will be aware that the Uscom 1A device is used in major critical ICU units around the world as the recommended device to monitor for sepsis and regulate treatment administration. Earlier this year China installed 50 Uscom-1A devices in purpose built Covid19 ICU hospitals in the main C19 hotspots, with a planned rollout of similar hospitals throughout China.
Mega-doses of vitamin C are required to be effective AND IT IS NOT SOMETHING YOU CAN DO AT HOME. The treatment requires very carefully controlled administration to avoid organ damage and it is here the Uscom 1A is the recommended control device of choice in C19 sepsis guidelines.

Very early days yet - but an interesting development.
