Australia can 'fall in love with weed' without any of these companies doing well or surviving at all. In any industry, whether shrinking, growing or stable, there are companies making money, losing money, and breaking even. A good industry doesn't mean all companies in it will thrive or continue to exist.

Of course, Australia can also fall in love with weed without the legal industry doing particularly well; there is a growing trend towards decriminalisation of weed or even legalisation of growing for personal use.

Even if the legal weed industry does grow to the lofty predictions touted by CPH, CPH itself isn't really in a particularly good position to take advantage of that industry, because the vast majority of it will go to big pharma and multinational beverage companies etc. Little wannabe startups have a challenging game, and CPH doesn't even pretend to play the appropriate strategy for the position it is in. It promises or implies that it is going to fill the roll of the big players, which it just isn't in a position to do. This does, however, excite people into investing for the promised or implied future profits, which of course never come.
