ClearVue puts foot into US sustainability door

ASX-listed smart building materials trailblazer, ClearVue Technologies, has secured a significant foothold in the US after signing a collaboration agreement with sustainable infrastructure specialist, AquaGen Infrastructure Systems.
Under the agreement, AquaGen will integrate ClearVue’s proprietary solar glass window technology known as photovoltaic, or “PV” technology into all of its planned sustainable village developments.
ClearVue’s clear, energy generating window glass technology redirects the sun’s ultraviolet radiation and infrared light to the edge of the panel where it is converted into electricity whilst allowing 70% of the visible light to pass through.
These developments, some of which are already at an advanced planning stage, will see ClearVue’s technology used throughout the built environment and in solar photosynthetic greenhouses and EV charging stations.
In addition, ClearVue and AquaGen will jointly showcase their respective technologies within the Smart Cities-Smart Communities Pavilion at the Boston GreenFest Event in mid-August.
AquaGen was founded by US-based Brian Braginton-Smith, a recognised expert in renewable energy and a key leader in the wider sustainability movement who has considerable sustainable community infrastructure expertise.
He also has 30 years of experience in the conversion of wastewater into an alternative water resource through advanced membrane separation, which has now been integrated with algae biotechnology as a community agricultural infrastructure solution.
Mr Braginton-Smith said:
“Where we have shown it in the US, the ClearVue technology has received near universal interest from architects and developers alike.
“Since meeting with Victor and the wider ClearVue team and conducting our own technical and commercial evaluation of the ClearVue technology, we have committed that where possible all AquaGen Systems projects will include ClearVue PV.”
“We have a number of projects in development, potentially representing a significant revenue source to ClearVue and providing ClearVue a clear foothold in the US urban sustainable infrastructure and agricultural marketplaces.”

ClearVue recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Taiwanese manufacturer, BeyondPV, to finalise a supply agreement for the solar PV strip modules used at the edges of ClearVue’s insulated glass units.
Under the agreement, Beyond PV will invest about USD$3.5 million to establish a dedicated production line to produce ClearVue’s solar PV strip modules and carry out research and development activities to improve ClearVue’s products and technology during the supply term.
The Taiwanese company will also cooperate on further development of solar modules for use in the company’s products.
ClearVue has also signed a consultancy agreement with global engineering consultants, Arup, to further develop four types of self-powered smart façade concepts that can be supplied to selected manufacturers for prototyping and integration into mass production and assembly.
All of the smart façades will feature ClearVue’s proprietary insulated glass units to generate power and electrochromic technology that enables the glass to automatically tint and adapt to the lighting conditions.
