Agreed GP, something has to happen soon. I'm giving them 6 months to mid 2020, noting that the recent BeyondPV announcement calls for 200,000 strips in 2020.
That's 50,000 windows and if all these windows averaged 2m2 and went into high rises then on my figures ($20/m2 to CPV) that gives a total of $2,000,000 to CPV in 2020 (2 x 20 x 50,000).
The economic case I have tried to show for using CPV windows in a high rise facade as pure power generators is totally different to that for a low rise (where I believe smart windows are more the go), for a glass house (where all facades and roof are glazed) and for an atrium (where whole area is glazed and sun angle is more advantageous).
One situation does not preclude the others. I believe an economic case can be made for all
four situations but the figures are very different for each case.
