    You can find a gap that hasn't been filled in just about every stock that's traded for a reasonable time period. Looking back at Apple, as an example, there are several from decades ago in the cents that were never filled. Will one of the biggest and best performing companies in the world become a penny stock simply to refill some gaps from the early 2000s? Gaps happen all the time, and by luck they'll get "filled" fairly often due to the volatile nature of the stock market. There's no logical reason though for them to get filled, unless a trader wishes to educate me on the intuition behind gaps being filled? I've noticed that traders and chartists like to make their assessments based on data of their own selection, examining only those occasions where a pattern has played out and never all those times when those where it has failed to do so. I guess then such an analysis could lead you to assume a gap not filling is very rare...
