So he put in 500k which is more than 2 years after tax salary, when his contract only covers 2 years and he’s already around 8-9 months in? Even with a “failed cap raise” as you put it, he’d still be getting paid and wouldn’t be $500k in the hole. So according to your theory he’s actually paying the company around $60k net for the privilege of working there for 2 years once you deduct his salary from his after tax earnings.
