    There is something not quite right about those figures somewhere. Traditional solar panels are about 22% efficient, meaning they produce around 220w/m2 - that's what you calculated it at too.

    For CPV glass panels to produce 280w/m2 represents efficiency that outperforms all current commercial solar panel technology. And the thing about CPV panels is that they are clear, they are designed to allow light through, any light that is let through cannot be used to generate electricity. I just can't see how 280w/m2 is possible with clear panels.

    For the record Nature magazine printed a paper on solar panel technology that maxed at 47%.

    I'd want to know more about this 280w/m2 figure and to know if that's the case, why aren't they thinking about transitioning that technology to fully opaque panels for even greater efficiency.
