It could well be that market demand is a limiting factor. Lynas have never sold their entire production, and have consistently made more than they sell. In 2015 fy alone they added 916t to stock to the over 1,000t they had at the beginning of the year. No doubt many here will see that as a positive, making stuff they can't sell ..... but generally speaking it isn't.

Whether it could have operated at higher levels or not we can't tell. But we do know that production from all three SX5 trains is yet to be optimised - how close we don't know. The Phase II L bottleneck shouldn't have affected things as they can't use (or sell) all the output from Phase I C&L.
