I always thought the 'previous close' method was based on the fact that when a gap forms you have to close the entire gap?
Ie. If there's a gap between 5.0c and 5.1c then you have to hit 5.0c as hitting 5.1c only closes the top end of the gap? I know we are trading in 1/10 of cents, but the theory is designed to capture all scales of trade, including below 1.0c (or 1/100 of a cent).
