Couple of Questions for the technically savvy here please:

    - If C&L eventually occurs in Oz (whoever owns Lynas), what is it that subsequently gets exported to Malaysia to the LAMP solvent extraction process? Is it the RE Sulphate Solution produced by C&L? What is the volume of this and how practical is shipping it over compared to current shipping of RE Concentrate? Or does it necessitate some other process to make shipping it manageable?
    - am I correct in understanding NUF is a residue of the SX process and as the Malaysian Govt and LYC have agreed on this matter, NUF said? But WLP is a residue produced from the post-leaching process? Lynas have a slide stating it is the result of precipitation of a leaching byproduct described as a “liquor” with Magnesium oxide and the WLP then contains Thorium at activity concentration of about 6 Bq/g. Which shouldn’t be a problem for Malaysia, but it is. But the WLP will be in Oz. Question is does this entirely remove the Thorium, is there any question at all about whatever Lynas might be exporting into Malaysia, or are they going to start some further scare campaign because this one has worked so well?

Which brings me to a political question:
    - are the WA environmentalists any better than their Malaysian counterparts? WA’s 7th enquiry into hydraulic fracture stimulation for natural gas (fracking) concluded after a 12m moratorium last year stating it was perfectly safe if regulated like the previous 6 Enquiries and the McGowan Govt said they would therefore not grant fracking approvals in about 95% of the State and would legislate to allow it in certain areas (essentially those it’s already been going in safely for 25 years), but 5m later haven’t got round to it.
Natural Gas is the answer to a reliance on Coal Fired Power.
REs are the answer to goodness knows how many environmentally beneficial issues, no electric vehicles or wind turbines without them + if we don’t think of something to replace petrol/diesel vehicles etc, the world runs out of oil in something like 48 years anyway, it’s gone, we’ve used it, there is no more.
So where are the environmentalists priorities exactly?
