According to the article below, she is seven months pregnant with their second child - I do feel sorry for her being caught up in a mess she didn't create. She will be desperately trying to believe the allegations are not true and that is completely understandable, imo.
But it seems that Gillard's only motivation in defending him is clearly to stay in power. If it were a coalition member facing these sorts of allegations, I would think Gillard would be scathing in her attacks.
