All the normal formulas that apply to this type of situation have been applied, from denial, burying his head in the sand, accusing others, even to the point of shedding tears in parliament (for the poor unfortunates of his electorate who would have to do without his representation, I think they were) which should, in the normal course of events, signal an end to the persecution.

For heaven's sake, if he wasn't supposed to use the credit card for having a good time, why did they give him one? Or did he give it to himself? Whatever, it's the Australian way. Nothing will happen -- it almost never does -- so get over it.
