Disregarding his theatrics I think he actually makes a good case. He is making a definite distinction between the price of gold stock and that of physical gold. Gold stocks are in a riskier investment basket than that of physical gold. The reason being is that stocks are susceptible to liquidation in a deflationary environment. Therefore the share price of any gold miner does not necessarily reflect the value of its underlying gold assets.

There is certainly nothing wrong with caution in lieu of the recent market turmoil. Cramer’s technical analysis makes a good case for selling and buying gold stocks. Whether or not you do will depend solely on how steadfast your emotional resolve is.
