Boom Logistics is expanding again, but with more, and younger, management resources. Rod Harmon, Boom's CEO, has grown the company into the largest crane operator in Australia in four years. It listed in late 2003 and by January 2007 had grown the market capitalization from $A74 million to $A700 million. Harmon has acquired 21 businesses during that time and the substantial demand for plant in the mining boom has stretched his company's capacity. Although Harmon feels satisfied with his achievements he is seeking the thrill of new horizons and is looking seriously at Asia, North America and New Zealand.
