    Most Australians dont have the money to invest in shares because wages have essentially not kept up with rising costs of living and paying a maortgage. Shareholders are a minority just as the historical indigenous supporters of former Colonial regimes were a minority.

    Most foreigh owned mines in Aus are not listed on the ASX (PHP, RIP & FMG etc are the exceptions)

    It is difficult to have self Government when multinationals do their utmost to twart the democratic process :

    PS: Trickle Down Economics does not work because the summarised Mission Statement of Multinationals is "Make as much money as you can"
    and altruism does not feature now or historically in their "milssions
