Unlike coal mines in Qld & NSW, most Iron Ore mines are monopolised by RIO< BHP & FMG and although majority foreign owned, they are listed on the ASX. My proposition was that most mines are majority foreign owned and not listed on the ASX.
Take Anglo & Glencore that own a swag of Aussie coal mines. they are both foreign owned and not listed on the ASX.
