    "Our" 3 airlines, (majority foreign owned) are the recipients of our Governments generous handouts ($710 mil at this point with the prospect of half that again in Fuel and employee concessions over 6 months) . Do posters here think that the average Aussie worker should be expected to shell out this type of money to private enterprise through extra tax payments? If you think so than good on ya and as Geoff might say: " May God save Australia"

    The notion of majortiy foreign owned multinationals paying for the "corporate welfare" of their majority owned brothers has , if nothing else, poetic justice, but of course our current Coalition is compromised in this respect because of it being the recipient of massive corporation donations.
    The current situation seems to be spend now and let the dumb working class mugs pay later.

    That is why we have the current tax system where individuals pay 3.5 times that of the Corporate tax payers.

    PS: By the way neither Rex or Virgin pay Corporate tax!
