You either cut losses short (early) or you ride it out and average down a bit before you estimate SP appreciation, which wouldn't be that long to wait.
I got out at 1.5c this time the day of the quarterly... made a small loss (1.75c entry). In the past I rode it down to 0.5c (heads) and 0.2c (oppies) and averaged the heck out of it for a good pay out.
