    The sp will be much higher but a lot of people struggle with the "how much".

    There are 2 scenarios.
    1. Someone buys them out after discovery and appraisal.

    2. They go the distance to production.

    Full value per barrel is achieved in production after extraction.

    The earlier you sell the less you get per barrel and miss out on your field expanding. I often hear 5 usd a barrel for early sale. So longer you're in the game the more you should make per barrel.

    If going to development and production you need to factor in dilution and as a minimum double the size of the current registry. I'd use 20 billion shares.

    One last consideration, extraction of barrels will take 20+ years. Selling a production well early is done at a discount. Nobody buys at full value but if they get that far and stay the distance, you could get a very nice yearly dividend check.
