Sure I'm not discounting the probabilty, as every market has it's ups and downs, but the Great depression was largely the culmination of the first world war, and it's dramatic effect on the world, in addition to political idealisms that were sprouting at that time.. i.e a shift from imperialism to socialism, fascism etc. in some areas of the world.
