Well, extralite, I have never written an option. Just too damn risky with unlimited losses possible. You win 10 times then you lose the lot and more when it goes against you. Everyone I know who has lost really serious money in options has done it on writes.
Also - with writes you are actually betting the stock will not go up, not that it will go down. If you really seriously believe a stock will dive, you should be buying puts.
