yeah this time round the lockdown is a lot harder for me. All the phone/video calls and emails and whatever don’t make up for physical presence. I’ve had plenty of laughs over the phone but it’s not the same. I need to feel people’s energy, I’m a toucher and I like to see the detail of faces and eyes when people talk. suddenly all the catch up plans and outings have been cancelled.

I have been frittering time and I’m not used to doing that either. Though some of the frittering has been avoidance. Weird you talk of tiny homes. I’m involved on the interim board of a tiny house community company and trying to get a constitution and shareholder agreement that is fit for purpose. We’ve got a pretty clear vision and operating model but a few things to sort. It’s been a slog, hence the occasional avoidance behaviour (for which hotcopper has served well). On top of that are a whole heap of other plans and documentation that will be necessary. We are doing all the ground work first. Because of my background I’m doing certain parts but they are mentally taxing. Others in the group have other skills. It’s a lovely, rewarding and enjoyable project with a great bunch of talented people.

I now know a lot more about tiny homes than I did though. There appears to be only so many ways you can configure them. Moreover what might look like useful space saving tricks can bring lots of other problems. Personally I can’t think of anything less appealing than a loft bedroom not the least of which is precisely the problem you’ve described. I played with graph paper and a ruler but these days you can use free online software that does a terrific job.
