I picked up this piece of wood when I raided the local rubbish tip over 2 years ago, bloke who used to work there would let people pick through the green waste section for firewood as it gets burnt anyway.
I liked the texture of the piece and it had some goodish holes/crevices. I picked up about half a tonne of various Gum tree limbs and Malley roots for my wood heater but this piece got hung on my clothesline anchor pole.
Inspiration was sadly lacking until a few weeks ago when I was looking at my low level of firewood and contemplating the value of it as heat or if it would work as an ornament. It was then that I noticed a bromeliad that the father-in-law had picked up for me had some nice pups, I don’t know if they will prosper in the wood/position of the wood but time will tell and I can always pull them out if they struggle.
