    I think the scheme is a little too generous.

    However, having the left argue against it is laughable.

    Abbott's policy fits more closely with waht they were wanted in 2008. However the unions now spends millions advertising against it, when it is what they wanted. Go figure! It really is stuff the worker and all about sides.

    Recently the left leaning Grattan institute has spent time showing that increasing female participation in the workplace will add billions to GDP. By providing better maternity allowances it may encourage higher female participation in full-time work, which will have beneficial results and help offset the ageing population issue.

    Once again I believe it is too generous and not what a conservative would do. However the unions believed it was a good idea both socially and economicaly, but now they rally against it.
