I don't see why a grant for "a short term, industry-identified and industry-led collaborative research project to develop a product, service or process that will solve problems for industry and deliver tangible outcomes" is not applicable to the prototyping process that DYE is going through right now. You'll have to explain why you think it wouldn't be useful.

RC has confirmed to me that DYE has applied for a CRC-P. Note that while CRC-Ps do require a partnership with a research organisation, they also require the partnership to include two Australian industry entities. So the partnership would be between DYE and an institution (CSIRO) AND another company.
I wouldn't turn my nose up at a CRC-P grant.
