am with the last 3 poster's; have never had a position in mfs

value is all about future profits/cash flows, the past is just that; value can change in a nano second, the last traded price is just a reference point if a willing buyer/seller want the next price to be up or down 50% then that's what the next price will be; all the references to historical mfs "value" are redundant as the world has changed:
    - they have a solid travel business which is being sold in a fire sale; they tried to sell in many times in the past and didn't, greed or otherwise they will be bitten in the arse with the price
    - they have too much debt on the remaining part of the business which effectively is worth zero as their management has no credibility and you can't run a financial services business with no credibility so that business is as good as finished
    - the focus on the ~$200mm short term debt is irrelevant now, the world has moved on and it's time to pay the piper

long story short is that they are in the death spiral and the board should be embarassed they let the company get into such a position

ranting and raving that it's going to go up when (if) it relists without explaining who in their right mind would ever invest with these guys again and how their financial services business might have a future is just futile

good luck; and never put 20% of your portfolio in a business you don't understand or people you can't trust
