I just want to share with you all what happened yesterday afternoon.
I was working yesterday afternoon and at about 3.30 I got a text message from my bank, They detected an unusual transaction at Coles. I never shop at Coles. Was this me? I rang the other half and he hadn't used the card since last week. I replied No. The bank replied that someone will contact me.
I went straight home and got checked my bank accounts, about $4k on Sportsbet and various sites from 1.30 to about 4 on the visa card. I rang my bank straight away and they cancelled my credit card and advised me that they will get the money back for me.
I can't speak highly enough of St George Bank for picking up the transactions and acting on them quickly.
It appears that the fraudsters are cranking up at the moment so be aware.
