I do likewise. An Amex card linked to a MasterCard through CBA. The Amex pays twice the points and I only use MC for the very rare place that doesn't accept Amex.
Then cash in the points for Coles vouchers.
I would prefer the direct cash back but that pays slightly less than vouchers so I take the vouchers and use it in place of cash when we shop.
