I hope that Albo’s commitment to the Ularu statement has a positive effect on this important section of our country, they have been ignored for way to long.
I think many will agree that this section of our community has been neglected, ignored and/or overlooked.
Us people who have never identified as being aboriginal, have mostly ignored everything to do with this section of our community since 1967.
Perhaps this lack of concern is the reason why some people feel guilty, when any issue related to this group is discussed?
This “guilt” or perhaps a general lack of guilt regarding this group of citizens is possibly the reason why we never see/hear any positive or negative comments being raised.
Every other federal issue is discussed robustly but before the referendum was floated, this issue was almost Unmentionable.
It is way past due for an audit, if the aboriginal industry is as clean as some suggest.
The Yes mob should be embracing the possibility of audits, they are supposedly honest and pure.
If they really want a treaty and 3% of GDP is the aim, they should want to be audited.
As this will show the other citizens just how intelligent and understanding they are.
