A few months back, a group of reddit users in a subthread (called wall street bets) coordinated a massive and sustained attack on large funds that were shorting a few dying/meme stocks. Ever since then, people everywhere keep trying to invoke the spirit of that movement but without the coordination or resources to pull it off.
Its pretty cringe and is often the last bastion of desperate holders trying to exit or save a losing position....
