Great point and it is true that each state and territory needs to adopt changes to the (federal) Poisons Standard into their own poisons legislation. Having said that, of the thousands of substances captured within the Poisons Standard, local deviations are rare. Off the top of my head there have been a couple affecting control of potential drugs of addiction (e.g. benzodiazepines). The expectation will be that all changes advocated by the TGA will flow directly to the states and territories.
