I read here alot of people are against the bouncer..

A bouncer from a batsman's point of view can be a scoring opportunity shot like a hook or pull shot or even flicked over slips.

From a bowlers point of view a bouncer can get a batter out caught behind or by any other fielder, and yes to intimidate the batsman.

Unfortunately this was just a freaky incident where the ball missed the bat and helmet but hit a vital part of the neck.

I guess the manufactures of helmets can come up with something that can protect that part of the neck, but I personally can't see how. Because batters need to have freedom of movement when playing various types of cricket shots.

Lets not forget helmets would have saved lots lives as well in this great game of cricket!

This is a very sad rare incident for both Hughes and Abbott.
