The reason because of the bad sportsmanship and a win at all costs attitude.
Ponting and everyone else behind the wicket go up as one because they heard two noises.
What is wrong with that?
I have played a lot of cricket as WK and i can tell you you are never sure what has hit what.
So you ask the umpire for a decision.
Thats what they are paid for.
It is not their fault if it is wrong.
