Geebung was playing otherville in the under 11's finals.

Little Johnny was Geebung's best batsman, and phil Otherville's best bowler, regarded as a demon bowler.

The last 2 overs were about to be played with the scores tied.

Phil let a ripper go and had Little Johnny plumb LBW. He appealed. The Umpire shook his head. "No" footfault!

Phil tried again, dot ball.

The third ball was again a plumb LBW. Appeal, the whole team went up. The umpire shook his head. "Turned too much, pitched outside the line.

The fourth ball went high in the air and was just about to be caught when the umpire yelled "No Ball". The catch was perfectly completed, but, alas, a no ball.

Some boys in Phil's team started to cry.

The last ball of Phil's last over came up. Phil put everything in it and bowled Johnny middle stump, baile flying high up into the air, stump ripped out.

A quiet appeal.. the Umpire shook his head. "NOT OUT" and the umpire added: "bad luck, son, you almost had him there!"

The game ended in a draw.
