Satori, you wax lyrical about the West Indian era of dominance which I also remember fondly. My bowling cricketing heroes have in fact largely been West India - they were indeed truly great.
It is always hard to compare across eras and realistically the greats in any one era are probably, ability wise, about the same as greats in most era. Yet this Australian era of dominance is statistically greater in many ways - for one thing the two longest winning streaks in Test Cricket are by Australian teams in the last 8 years.
You argue this team wouldn't stand up yet it beats its opposition as well as the West Indies did.
