When not studying, I work for a retail outlet (Bunnings) where my role is to inspect vehicles and prevent loss through theft.
In the last three months, the amount of stock leaving our store unpaid for has literally tripled. A lot of the time it's hard to be sure its theft, but people are already becoming increasingly desperate and are trying everything to make their dollar go further and walk or drive out of the store with that little something extra.
More police trips to our store in the last month than the previous year combined.
And we're not even in a 'technical' recession yet!
