for the education of those who are unaware, this mine has a weak roof and had 45 roof falls over 10yrs under BHP ownership (see link to paper below). unfortunately this one caused a fatality.

Question for shareholders is what is the liability here are whole of mine operator and does it question the move in that direction for both crinum and cook. at the recent call on the merger deal, a question was asked around the risks of entering cook due to its track record of problems and a confident response was given that the board and pillar technique removed some of the risk that previous longwall operations have had, however if crinum is deemed too risky to complete the re-entry and secure it, can the same the said for cook. what will be the cost to lay off the workers and get rid of excess equipment?
