Specific fears might be:
1. That this happened at a choke point - where the conveyor is - could be time consuming/ expensive to fully sort out.
2. That it might effect willingness to work at these mines.
3. That the mine might be closed as it is unsafe.
4. That the Cook mine might be deemed unsafe as well.
I still think that after attaching some odds of these events happening, a near 20% fall is a bit too much. The operators and owners will know a lot about the history of the mine and would have factored roof instability into costs and capabilities I expect.
Coal is doing well ATM. I suspect everybody involved will first want to ensure the mine is safe, and up and running again ASAP.
So I have taken a punt - maybe I am naive, but there is no way of predicting the future, so will have to see what happens.
