Labor has NO policy that will rebuild manufacturing in this country. Their policies are still knocking off what is left of manufacturing. A bloated and out of control public service plus union control of Government are a large part of why manufacturers head overseas with manufacturing. The high cost of electricity and potential unreliability adds to the reason for overseas production.
Personally, I am having experience where a quote for a hydraulic hybrid unit in Australia is twice the price quoted by Korean and Indian manufacturers. Currently it looks like it will be sourced from Korea. The technology may even end up being sold overseas, negotiations are currently under way.
