crisis, what crisis?, page-45

Many governments have been rolled in North Africa recently, but I have not heard of any foreign companies losing their mining concessions as a result. IMO, it is getting more and more difficult for revolutionary governments to dishonor mining concessions of previous governments due to international court action and PR.

It then comes down to the UN sanction. If the UN approve the sanction to ban mining equipment and remittances to Eritrea, then Eritrea's mining industry will come to a standstill. If it comes to that situation, many Eritreans will die of starvation before the government is toppled. In desperation, and with the backs to the wall, like a trapped tiger, the Eritreans will fight back leading to wide-spread conflict in Ethiopia, Somalia, Sudan and Djibouti.

The Red Sea route will be threatened, and international trade will slow between Asia and Europe, further exacerbating the financial and unemployment crisis in Europe.

Europe cannot afford to see their recovery threatened by instability in the Red Sea area. Asia would not want to move their goods round the Cape of Good Hope. Russia would not want to see US ascendancy in Eritrea.

The world needs stability in Eritrea. The world needs to support stability in Eritrea. Revenue through mining resource-rich Eritrea is one way to achieve it.
