This Office has now been established and the web page is here:

    https://www.industry.gov.au/about-us/critical-minerals-facilitation-office

One of the roles of the Office is to:
    • facilitate strategically important critical minerals projects, including those that have the potential to deliver new separation and processing capacity in Australia
Clearly the Kalgoorlie cracking and leaching plant falls within this role.

Lynas have also said they will “...also explore opportunities for the next stage processing (upstream solvent extraction) in Western Australia.” (https://www.lynascorp.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/191209-Lynas-Selects-Kalgoorlie.pdf).

There is also a page that lists the funding and supports available here:

    https://www.industry.gov.au/funding-and-incentives/supporting-critical-minerals-projects

The financial incentives appear to be limited to concessional loans.

As Lynas already have a low interest finance support from Japan, I’m not sure these incentives are of any benefit.

I’m not seeing anywhere where there is potential for Commonwealth Government grants like those on offer in the US.

    Happy to be corrected!
