Spent 6 years living in that "port town", which would I presume be Fort Dauphin aka Tolagnaro (or Faradofay in the local parlance), near the roundabout in Ampotatra Ambany. I was married there at the town hall & Lutheran cathedral and we had our wedding reception attanded by @300 people, mostly aTandroy, at the military base there as my wife's uncle is a commandant there. So I still have very strong family links to that town .... but not to QMM. Yup. Truly a project to make any Australian's chest swell with pride (not!). They produce illmenite ("fasa mainty" (mainty = black fasa = sand) .... also some rare earths as a bi-product.
