hi Timber, I think we notice similar things. But I'm Chinese Australian and I read and write fluently in both language, which means I understand what each side is trying to do. ultimately China came to rise without having to start a war or genocide on anyone, the US is trying to avoid internal collapse by pushing down its 2nd largest competitor in terms of capital. They had a money moon back in Dengxiaoping era to help break down USSR and that China was capital poor with cheap resources, whilst US had abundant capital but expensive labour force. Now China grew under state and market capitalist dual engine strategy and is now competing for good assets with capital, in US's view, also means that the petrol dollar and US sanctions become less effective in destroying rival economies. From REE front China is only doing so in retaliation as US has already shown hostility in many high tech areas - hence the REE ban play. Noting the EU and UK are not competing in high tech with China, Germany is already warming up to China to work with China as China's EV has already overtaken EU's main export industry. None of the EU or UK is competing with China on anything substantial that can't be worked out. The only country that's trying to stop China is the US, and is pushing US's agenda in the EU via NATO. Denmark is a part of NATO and so then makes Greenland part of the plot as GoG still haven't got the authority to manage national security.
