I just have a feeling that something may happen at the 11th hour like sufficient shareholder dissent to torpedo the deal or maybe even another bid from some interests.

Maybe something enough the stall the process. I think the deal is looking so ridiculous that some may just not play along.

BHP can't promise back room sweeteners to everybody(for those conspiracy theorists who suspect something fishy - not me). Not every share the same interests and succumb to whatever incentives may be dangling.

Just look at the IO juniors rising SP today (alone). It's indefensible.
