Like many others on here I was blown away by the share trading volumes over the past few days. I reviewed the full course of trades yesterday and noticed a very large number of trades usually with a very large number of shares in each trade being a cross trade.

To my knowledge a cross trade is when the shares transact from one legal entity to another and the transaction occurs off screen because the offer and bid never appear on the market depth. Legally I can sell from my personal share holding to my SMSF as an example. What I am saying is that because has been traded does not mean that it has changed effective ownership.

I have analysed todays trades in an excel spreadsheet and

and found that 44.69% of todays sales are cross trades.

This seems an extraordinarily high number to me. I believe the turnover numbers are being artificially pumped up to give the impression that every one is throwing in the towel and the lemings follow.

Hard to keep one step ahead of these crafty critters. Any constructive comments welcomed.

Are Santos allowed to keep accumulating during this period. If STO are no buying who is. Maybe the hedge funds are rolling the dice. I even see some shorts yesterday.

I am holding out and voting against this low ball and opportunistic offer.
