I believe the actions of the companies surrounding Browse mimic expectations that there will be a change of government in the immediate future. It is clear to me that Barnett is gone but doesn't know it yet. WPL & Shell are acting like they think so too.
In the end this will be very good for WPL investors. We will save 9 billion to develop Browse.
Everybody needs and wants Barnett to go. The Greens, the oilers, the locals, the indigenous, but I think WPL should hold true to its commitments to the aboriginal community and pay them 25-50% of what was promised.
Pure and simple.
