Fair statement about the population proximity Julia, and this is why this plant is state of the art and should have indepndent monitoring and be answerable to any scrutiny. LYC can make this the cleanist plant ever and set an example to the world! The old comparison to nuclear reactors and Fukushima is still a bit much. Lets just say a huge tidal wave swamps the area. Worst case sinerio is LYCs sealed thorium containers are washed away.
Not sure how this compares to out of control reactors???
