The Coaches Association Award and All Australian is based upon the bivariate relationship between an individual player and other players performances. Purely making the team doesn't mean that you have improved it simply means that you are better than others around you in the 2016 season in that particular position.

The statistical evidence clearly states Rory Sloane has not improved. You cannot argue he has improved if his player rating which is purely based on his performance is decreasing, disposals decreasing, and influence decreasing. I never stated I knew more than any of the individuals. In fact you did as a poor attempt at an argument.

It's not hard to win the coaches association when you don't have any strong performing players in the team to take points away from you. Adelaide Crows only have two players in the top 40 AFL ratings compared to Port Adelaide who have the most on 5. You will find players perform better in the brownlow/coaches association award when they have less players in the top AFL ratings.
