It does feel like RMS have a window to get it done. As a producer, they have cash pouring in (and they are about to announce their first-half numbers on Friday, which might give their stock price another bump if they have outperformed). At the same time SPR's shares have been in retreat, so the opportunity is there. Throw in a few helpful brokers to steer the price downwards and the moment might be approaching....
If RMS does make its move, SPR might look back on the last two months with a bit of regret. If they had paid a bit of overtime over the Xmas break to keep the drills spinning, they might have maintained a stronger news flow, buoying the share price. SL has also been very quiet for weeks (until recently, when he seemed to imply in the LinkedIn post that more could have been done). Fair play, he deserved a decent break, after months of spectacular delivery. But the relative 'pause' of the last two months might be regretted if Zeptner uses it to his advantage in pulling the trigger.
