Really the majors have a lot more capacity than RMS.
Anything can happen in a takeover situation as illustrated below.
AZS had a 20% major lithium holder which tried to take over AZS - a bigger whale brought a close to 20% stake at a higher price than the major lithium company bid price which was a blocking stake - the whale and lithium major put together a combined bid which succeeded.
The point of this example is just because a stock has a 20% shareholder does not necessarily result in that shareholder taking over the company. Look at DEG as well.
The major gold miners have deep pockets and can easily out bid RMS which in the international context is a junior producer.
If there is a bid from RMS it will not surprise me that other players emerge creative a bidding war - I expect a bidding war as SPR has an asset that many companies want. If they look like finding over 5m Oz of high grade gold it is my view RMS will be out bid by a major but RMS will make a lot of money.
